How We Can Help

Shelter

Haven House provides beds for adults and children seeking refuge from violence. Residents receive shelter, meals, and hygiene items at no cost. Adult survivors can safety plan, set family goals, and access peer support or individual counseling.

Our trained staff is available 24/7 to assist anyone affected by domestic or sexual violence. Whether you're in crisis, need shelter, or just someone to talk to, we're here to help with information, safety planning, referrals, and support for concerned loved ones.

Outreach

Haven House offers outreach resources for individuals in need of support beyond shelter. Advocates provide one-on-one meetings to discuss domestic or sexual violence, its effects, and common survivor experiences.

Court Advocacy

Advocates are available in the 36th Judicial Circuit's civil and criminal courts to assist victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking. Services include help with protection orders, safety planning, rights notifications, and applications for Crime Victims Assistance.

Our peer support groups, led by trained professionals, offer encouragement and strength through daily discussions with others who have experienced similar challenges.

A 26-week program for individuals convicted of domestic assault or related crimes, focusing on accountability, education on the impact of abuse, and zero tolerance for further incidents.

Make A Difference In Your Community

We offer various volunteer opportunities, from babysitting to paperwork, to help support our shelter. Tasks include assisting with meal prep, answering the hotline, or helping with intake for new residents. If you're not comfortable with direct care, roles like maintenance, organizing, and fundraising are also available. Volunteers must pass a background check, agree to confidentiality, and complete training. For more information, call the business office at 573-686-4873.

We welcome donations of canned and perishable foods, especially fresh produce, coffee, tea, sugar, and condiments. Party leftovers, paper products like towels and toilet tissue, and personal hygiene items are always needed. Your gently used furniture and household goods can help families starting over through our "Project Start Over." Donations are accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and are tax-deductible.
