Important Upcoming Annual Events
If you are looking for a group project to assist those who have been left homeless due to domestic or sexual violence, we have lots of good ideas, from collecting specific items to collecting money for a special project here at the shelter. If your group wants to expand past their membership and host a community event to raise funds, we will help with that, too. Please contact us at 573-686-4873 or at haven@semo.net. We can advertise your event on our Events Page, in our newsletter and through Public Service Announcements.
April has been designated as National Sexual Assault Awareness month since 2001. Haven House joins with community partners to raise awareness of sexual assault, harassment and abuse. We know that prevention and intervention are the keys to reducing sexual violence in our community. We hope to help community members learn how they can be agents of change. If you'd like more information or learn how you can help, please call 573-686-4873 and ask for Melody.
We are pleased to announce the Haven House Annual Trail Ride will take place September 17, 2022. The location has been moved to the former Evans Farm that is now the Hillis Farm northwest of Poplar Bluff.
More details to follow.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which was established in 1981 by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. At Haven House, we dedicate the month to increasing awareness of the crisis of domestic violence in our community, acknowledging and supporting survivors and being a voice for those who have not been heard. Watch for updates regarding upcoming events that will be happening in October 2021. If you are interested in participating or being part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, please contact us at 573-686-4873.
